Review from Mom Start

Vermont Village began by gathering apples in the wild. Their dream was to make these pure natural fruits of the land available to everyone. They learned from tradition, to bring out the goodness and the natural flavor from the fruit. “Cook them whole, cook them fast. Don’t add anything that nature didn’t put there. That’s the best way.” It was in this motto that they let its natural character and taste shine through. They still aim to make a wholesome, natural applesauce that would appeal to taste buds, wallets, and the nascent natural market. So they became the first company to sell additive-free, no sugar-added, all-natural applesauce to supermarkets.

Vermont Village sent me a sample of every flavor they make. They sent us so much applesauce I had to share it with everyone.

This photo was taken before our playdate, before I opened every package. I let my kids choose which flavor they wanted and they both chose the strawberry banana. It’s the same flavor I would have chosen. This is only three of the samples we were sent. I’ve been handing out applesauce to all my neighbors and one of them used it in a recipe for banana muffins. I also love to substitute apple sauce for oil when it comes to baking. Adding applesauce is a healthy alternative to oil, keeping baked goods moist with less fat.

Not only does Vermont Village create great tasting applesauce in so many flavors your head will spin, they are USDA organic. The organic applesauces are available in 24 oz. jars and 4 oz. snack cups – unsweetened and with fresh fruit varieties including Peach, Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, Raspberry and Tropical Mango.

The organic apple butter is a sugarless fruit spread that’s great for sandwiches, waffles, crackers or just straight from the jar.
